Rules of Lost Lakes.
These are the rules for Lost Lakes. Players who do not follow these guidelines may be subject to ejection and/or banishment.

>>> Lost Lake strives to be as widely acceptable to varying ages and cultures as possible so please be mindful of your topics and language. Strong language (i.e., swearing) is looked down upon although strong language, discussions, opinions or debates are by no means basis for ejection or banishment on their own, and shall not be treated as such. Be forewarned that anything uttered in a public area of the dream may invoke an undesired response and if such evolves into disruption to the dream's peaceful climate and cannot be calmed rather quickly this may result in ejection or banishment.

>>> Please be respectful of those around you: their opinions, beliefs, actions and their personalities. There are many places in the dream for you to explore if you cannot share a space with someone else. Feel free to venture out into the Lakes and find your own spot to gather.

>>> Any openly derogatory or slanderous remarks will be met with swift action. The Lakes are not the place to settle scores.

>>> Spamming, IE bombarding the dream with block text, alternate characters and objects, notably in excess and with the intent to maliciously annoy and disrupt, is not permitted and will be dealt with swiftly. This includes speaking via multiple bots or alternate characters in unison.

>>> Offsite open advertising that does not relate to Furcadia or Lost Lakes is in general not allowed. Open advertising refers to spoken phrases such as "Come to my blog at {URL} and rate me!" or "Log into {URL-PRT} and lag my buddy!" or other similar unrelated comments. Players doing this will likely be asked not to do so again and if they continue, may be subject to ejection under the spam rules. This does NOT apply to casual mentioning of offsite URLS in discussions or any such advertisements in a character's description.

>>> Fighting/Sparring shall be done in the Pit or other designated areas only, be it sword or sorcery.

>>> Become familiar with the websites - especially the rules and staff pages. If you feel there is a problem that needs to be addressed in any regard to the Lake, please feel free to contact the Taneests or Rah. They are frequently in touch with one another and the message will get where it needs to go. It is why they are here.

>>> Minor infractions of these rules will often be met with a warning and/or the advice to stop by the Taneests or Rah. More serious infractions however, will usually go by the traditional "two warnings, then banned" format, however, blatant and open violations may be banned instantly to maintain peace. We do not wish to start feuds or cause conflict and will do our best to diffuse a scenario before it elevates.

>>> The Taneests of Lost Lake reserve the right to make executive decisions in tense scenarios in the Rah's absense. They were chosen with the belief that they can make decisions that will reflect the Lake and calm conflicts as immediately as possible. If you truly feel there was a misunderstanding or wish to contest their decision, please do not make a scene. We do have a chain of command and The Senior Taneests and Rah will review the issue as soon as possible.

>>> The Chain of Command. Players and staff often work together on issues within the Lakes, and this chain helps eliminate some confusion. If a player has an issue with staff, they should save their log files and ask the Senior Taneest Padawan Anakin to review the event. If you are not satisfied here, again, bring your log files and request a review of the staff's actions with Furet, the Sheriff, who oversees Lakes Staff. If you are still not happy, you are free to request a review with Roy Seigfried, the Rah, who's word is and will be final.

>>> Complaints. A complaint is seen as a whisper or other contact with a staff member about a given issue, event or action. If a player is speaking about something you do not wish to hear about just ask them politely to not do so or use the Ignore {furrename} option. If someone is doing something that bothers you, such as walking into you repeatedly, ask them politely not to do it. If they continue, save your logfile of the event and file a complaint with a staff member. Just stating openly in the tavern that you do not like something is not considered an official complaint and will not be seen as one. If you do not tell us directly that something bothers you we will assume you are allright with whatever is going on. Also, remember, if you have no log file/s to back yourself up, you have no case and your complaint will be dismissed. Your case will also be dismissed if you submit a logfile altered in any way. We have the master Logfiles and can compare them easily enough.

>>> Remember, Lost Lakes is a place to come and relax, to enjoy one's self. Being in the Lakes is a privilege, not a right. Be respectful and have fun, after all, it IS just a game, so please, enjoy your time with us. : )
